The Via Dolorosa or “Way of Sorrow”, the traditional path Jesus walked to his crucifixion, is approximately 600 meters (about 0.37 miles) long. While the distance is relatively short, the journey was extraordinarily arduous for Jesus due to his physical suffering and the weight of the cross. It’s believed that Jesus carried the crossbar or patibulum for part of the way, and Simon of Cyrene carried the rest of it.
